Sam McCloskey

Sam is Director of Sustainability & Climate Resilience at Tetra Tech Europe. She leads a broad portfolio of projects for public and private sector clients including provision of advisory services under secondment to Simply Blue Group in floating offshore wind. She is a member of the Marine Renewable Industry Association, representing Northern Ireland interests.

In her former role, she was Director of the Centre for Advanced Sustainable Energy, an industry-led research centre, funded by Invest NI and hosted by Queen’s University Belfast. Over her 10-year tenure she oversaw funding of £10m to 35+ projects, involving 80 companies. Over £2m of funding was directed to marine renewable energy projects (between TRL 3 – 7) including several tidal energy testing campaigns on Strangford Lough.
