2022 Cork Chamber Company of Year awards recognise Success, Innovation and Sustainability
Simply Blue Group is delighted to emerge as the winner of the SME category in the 2022 Cork Chamber Cork Company of the Year Awards, which took place in Páirc Ui Chaoimh yesterday evening. Now in their 24th year, the coveted awards celebrate the best of Cork businesses.
The award was presented to Dr Val Cummins and Sam Roch Perks and the Simply Blue Group team at a gala event in Páirc Ui Chaoimh in the presence of An Taoiseach, Micheal Martin.

Simply Blue Group is an early-stage developer of blue economy projects in floating offshore wind, wave energy and low-impact aquaculture. Headquartered in Cork City, the company has offices in Dublin, Edinburgh, Pembroke, Newquay, Oregon, and Hamburg. Simply Blue Group currently employs 63 staff, up five-fold over the past 18 months.
Simply Blue Group have a global pipeline of 9GW of floating offshore wind projects. In Ireland and the British Isles, they have 3GW of floating offshore wind projects, partnered with Shell Renewables & Energy Solutions (Ireland), Total Energies (Wales), Orsted and Subsea 7 (Scotland) and recently signed an MOU with Groupo Amper and FF New Energy Venture to explore the opportunities of floating offshore wind in Spain and Portugal. Simply Blue Group has also established a partnership with Total Energies in the US.
Simply Blue Group are also developing wave energy off County Clare and a low-impact aquaculture project in Scotland, using state-of-the art waste capture technology.
