Description

The Commercial Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the Commercial Strategy and Plans for the portfolio. The Commercial manager will lead on the contracting and procurement strategy, LCOE assessment, route to market development and securing land owner option agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements the Commercial Strategy and Plans for the project
  • Develops and implements a contracting and procurement strategy for the portfolio
  • Provides timely project data and information upon request to the Project Manager to account for progress in the portfolio of projects in the commercial function, according to deliverables, milestones, and budgets
  • Works with the project manager and functions leads to prepare and manage tender processes, draft tender evaluation, and selection recommendations
  • Responsibility for procurement process based on the technical specification developed by the function leads with the project manager
  • Facilitates procurement of all survey work
  • Ensures that all contracts are effectively negotiated and commercially managed
  • Develops and manages the commercial relationships with key suppliers, particularly the WTG OEMs
  • Supports the LCOE estimation for the projects, liaise with the relevant team members and external contractors
  • Leads on landowner negotiations; including option agreements and leases
  • Leads in preparing strong competitive bids via ORESS or other support mechanisms
  • Facilitates strong CPPAs/alternative route to market opportunities
  • Develop the business cases for the projects in the portfolio
  • Provides technical direction for the commercial function (resource, scope, risk, programme, and budget) and support the effective delivery of environment and commercial functions through timely delivery of interdependent project outputs
  • Provides day-to-day management of the commercial teamand relevant external contractors
  • Works with the Coordination Committee and supports the Project Manager to develop and agree the annual budget and related programme
  • Innovates and challenge the offshore wind development status quo whilst ensuring that outputs always remain robust and bankable

Experience/Qualifications

  • At least 8+ years Senior Commercial experience
  • Previous experience of working in Offshore Wind/other renewables development projects (desirable)
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University in Commercial, legal or Finance, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in Contract Management/Negotiation or Project Management and/or Sales/Commercial
  • Project Management experience (desirable)
